Work Today

Remember when I said I was so lucky to work with 5th graders?

After today…

1. Scratch that.

2. Forget it.

3. Pretend that I never said that.

I’m starting to reassess my career choice and think that perhaps working at the DMV would be a better and more enjoyable option.

UPDATE: I’ve now had a few hours to reflect and have come up with a new plan for tomorrow. I’m going to take up drinking.

Kidding!

Actually  I’ve got a plan and am ready to teach again tomorrow so wish me luck.

5th graders here I come!

  1. I feel your pain! I have been having one of those BLAAH weeks with my students, too. It is a shame when adults act like 5th graders.

  2. It is not limited to 5th graders. Trust me. My AP European kids..the class that has 30 in it…were so out of it yesterday, I wanted to scream. Even the 10th graders who usually have more energy than the 11th and 12th…I guess it is time to change direction and break out the Poster board and markers:)

  3. I’ve had those same exact thoughts many, many times! It doesn’t help that the weather is absolutely insane right now either! This time of year, I always think about what Samuel L. Jackson’s character said in Jurassic Park: “Hold on to your butts!” because Lord knows this time of year is just completely nuts. So, hold on and keep counting the days until summer! 🙂
